Hellooo, my lovelies! It’s June Favorites time!
I Read…
I finally finished Julia Quinn’s Bridgertons series in June, and ohhh my heart—these last two books were such a delightful, unhinged, swoony ride. The stories were witty and emotional, with a ton of sharp tongue banter. Perfect comfort reads with just the right amount of drama, heart, and happily-ever-after.
I Watched…
Season 3 of Netflix’s GINNY & GEORGIA! OMG, this season is the best one yet! It picks up where the season two finale left off: Georgia has been arrested and is accused of murder. The trial takes over the town while Georgia spends most of the season on house arrest, hilariously spying on the neighbors while trying not to lose her smalltown criminal mastermind self.
However, the best element of this season is not necessarily Georgia’s fall (nor her court outfits, which are brilliant gaaaahhh), but how this affects Ginny and Austin’s mental health. Also: while Max spends season three desperately trying to be there for Ginny, Marcus eventually spirals into alcoholism and isolation.
Is it camp? Is it a fever dream? Is it low-key brilliant? Yes, yes, and maybe. Either way, I’m obsessed.
I Listened to…
MORGAN’S RIDE by John Debney! Okay, so this is an old one, but the swashbuckling, cinematic flair of this track has been on repeat this month. Debney understood the assignment and then some. The old-Hollywood adventure charm is just SO GOOD! Also: it’s the perfect soundtrack for the scene I’ve been drafting! Think: a high-stakes carriage chase through the cobbled streets of revolutionary Paris (yes, that’s happening, and YES, it’s as extra as it sounds).
