Happy March, my lovelies! Once again, February was filled with some amazing books, TV shows, and music! Let’s check out my faves:
I Read…
BREAK ME, the final book in the “Brayshaw” series by Meagan Brandy!
Brandy ends this series with a bang! BREAK ME brings the story of the Brayshaw family full circle with our most beloved bad boy taking the spotlight. Yes, lovelies, Royce got his own book! Yes, yes, HECK YES!
We finally get to see behind his joker’s mask, and it’s EVERYTHING. Brandy really saved the best for last: the angst, the alpha intensity, the enemies-to-lovers, the power dynamics, the loyalty, the intrigue—I’m all for it! If you enjoy a romance with an edge (and a ton of spice), BREAK ME delivers!
I Watched…
G’day! I watched the first three seasons of the Australian TV series MCLEOD’S DAUGHTERS! This soapy drama originally aired from 2001 to 2009 and is an uplifting portrayal of strong, independent women managing a cattle station in rural Australia, while breaking gender stereotypes and being super relatable in their daily struggles.
The show is chockfull of heartwarming family moments, strong character relationships, and breathtaking scenery of the Australian countryside—I mean: the vast landscapes, changing seasons, and rural charm are AMAZING. Right-o!
That ending though…ugh, rip out my heart and stomp on it, mate! I’m gonna need a moment before I can move on to season 4…
I Listened to…
Billy Joel’s “Vienna”!
Originally released on his 1977 album THE STRANGER, the song’s lyrics are elegant in their simplicity. Sometimes, the most profound messages come from the simplest words, right? A well-placed phrase can carry immense weight, proving that emotional depth doesn’t always require linguistic complexity.
The song is a powerful plea for patience and self-awareness. It speaks to the overachiever, the dreamer, and anyone who struggles with the feeling that they’re running out of time (hello, sir, I feel seen).
More than four decades after its release, “Vienna” continues to resonate because its message is timeless: we don’t have to rush through life—success and fulfillment are not races to be won. Sooo, take a cue from Vienna: slow down, find your own (maybe off-beat) rhythm, and embrace the journey!
Next destination: Vienna?
