Hello lovelies! Spring has FINALLY arrived, and I’m loving every second of it! The days are longer and warmer and more sunshiny, and even though time seems to be flying by, there’s something super energizing about it all. Between soaking up the fresh air and juggling a million things, I still managed to enjoy some amazing books, shows, and music this month—in other words: April favorites are here!

A SEA OF UNSPOKEN THINGS by Adrienne Young, about a woman who investigates her twin brother’s mysterious death while coming to terms with the ghosts from her own haunting past. As you may know, Adrienne Young is a total auto-buy author for me, so OF COURSE I’d been looking forward to reading her latest book—and it did NOT disappoint.
I was lucky enough to meet Adrienne in person during the WWTS Storyteller’s Retreat in Scotland last October (still pinching myself over that, by the way), which made reading her latest even more special. This book is such a strange creature—in the best way possible. It blends magical realism, mystery, a bit of who-dunnit, small-town intrigue, family drama, friendship drama, romance drama, and moody northern Cali vibes.
The dynamics between the characters were absolute chef’s kiss, and don’t even get me started on the second chance romance between Micah and James—I was rooting for them HARD. We love Micah. Obviously. How could we not?
I Watched…
All three seasons of A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES on Amazon Prime, based on the ALL SOULS trilogy by Deborah Harkness!
This show is a mesmerizing mix of romance, fantasy, and intricate historical scheming—with a storyline that had me HOOKED from episode one. We follow Diana Bishop, a successful historian and reluctant witch (how cool is that combo), as she uncovers a mysterious manuscript and gets swept into a magical world full of dangerous secrets and forbidden love. OOOOOOHHHHH!
The chemistry between Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode is electric, the cinematography is stunning (I can’t WAIT to visit Oxford this summer), and the costumes are amazing! Also, the various settings make every scene a visual treat: Oxford! London! Venice! A seven-turret castle in a moody French forest! Oh my!
I Listened to…
The NO WRITE WAY podcast by Victoria Schwab! In each episode, bestselling author Schwab sits down with other successful authors to chat about their origin stories, creative processes, work-life balance, and how they bring their stories to life.
The podcast is honest and encouraging—there’s a strong focus on the idea that there’s no single formula for writing. Whether you’re an aspiring writer or simply someone who loves stories and wants a peek behind the curtain, this podcast is both inspiring and insightful. Every episode leaves me feeling motivated and a little less alone in my creative shenanigans.
